VH pleads with all parties to field more BCs in civic polls

Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader V Hanumanth Rao today exhorted his party leaders to field as many BC leaders as possible in the upcoming municipal elections. He said the BCs should be given tickets in not only seats reserved for them, but also in the general seats.

Speaking to media persons on Monday, Hanumanth Rao said veteran Congress leader and former CM of erstwhile AP State Marri Channa Reddy thought of providing reservations to the BCs. He said all political parties in the State should take inspiration from Dr Channa Reddy and provide seats to the BCS. He also said the DCCs should take steps to see that no injustice was done to the BC leaders at the ground level.

Targeting the BJP for carrying out a campaign that both TRS and the Congress are two sides of same coin, VH alleged that in fact the BJP has a tacit understanding with the TRS in the State. He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had abandoned all his promises. He opined that Congress would benefit a lot if it took the failures of the TRS government to the doorsteps of the people.
