Makthal (Mahabubnagar) : Caretaker Minister KT Rama Rao today asserted that the TRS will retain power in the December 7 elections and party supremo K Chandrashekhar Rao will remain as Chief Mminister. Stating that the TRS was indebted to Palamur district, KTR said KCR achieved the statehood while he was the MP of the district.
Addressing a public meeting christened as “Praja Ashirvada Sabha” in Makthal along with his cabinet colleagues Dr C Lakshma Reddy, candidate Ch Rammohan Reddy, MP Jithender Reddy, SATS Chairman A Venkateshwar Reddy and others, KTR said the arch rivals the Congress and the TDP joined hands against the TRS in the elections which will be blessing in disguise for the ruling party. The Opposition was getting jealous of completion of the projects and moving the courts to stall the works.
The Palamur migrants are returning back to their villages for which the credit goes to the TRS regime for completing the projects, reviving the lakes and giving safe waters to every household through Mission Bhagiratha. He appealed to the electorate to vote for Ch Rammohan Reddy, the TRS candidate, for development of the segment. He claimed that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu had written 30 letters to the Centre against the ongoing Telangana projects. He appealed to the people to be cautious and vote for the TRS for growth and completion of the projects. If the people chose the Congress-led Mahakutami, they will face the same old problems of water scarcity for irrigating crops and shortage of drinking water.
To repay, the State government has taken up Rs 36,000-crore Palamur Lift Irrigation project and gave waters to over nine lakh acres, he said. However, Congress leader Harshavardhan Reddy and Pavankumar Reddy have moved courts against the growth process as the TDP could not digest the change for progress, he remarked. The people will face the hardship if the Mahakutami wins as they have to get diktats from either Delhi or Amaravathi, he said. (NSS)
