Warangal man kills 9 in an attempt to hide another murder

Warangal: A man killed a family of 6 in the Warangal city of Telangana state last week, another two individuals from Bihar and one from Tripura and dumped them in a well about 150 kms from Hyderabad. He did the heinous crime in a spite to cover up his previous murder of a woman who went missing in March, according to the police.

On Monday, the 24 year old man was arrested by the police in the killing of the 9 people.
Sanjay Kumar Yadav, the accused, had mixed heavy sleeping tablets in the food of the family of 6 and dumped them in the well. The family consisted of Maqsood, his wife, two sons, one daughter Bushra and her 3 year old son.

Maqsood was a 48 year old man who had migrated from West Bengal 20 years back and started residing in Warangal rural. Seven of the people found dead used to work in a gunny bag-stitching company. Maqsood and his family stayed in two rooms in a unit of the working place.

The murders in Geesugonda Mandal village in Warangal were carried out in an attempt to cover the killing of a woman related to Maqsood’s family. Sanjay allegedly killed the woman on March 6th.

“To cover up one murder, he killed nine others,” the official said and added that the police department would ensure maximum punishment be awarded to the accused who is now charged guilty of murdering 10 people.

Maqsood’s wife had reportedly been questioning and threatening Sanjay of complaining against him in the police station regarding the missing woman. He got rid of the threats by murdering the entire family and throwing them all in a well.

As no major wounds or injuries were found on the bodies of the victims, a possibility of mass suicide wasn’t ruled out initially when the bodies were found. The murders soon came to light after an investigation by six special teams led to the accused. He later confessed to his grievous act, according to the police.

The number of crimes hasn’t gone low since the start of the lockdown. People have been carrying out their vicious plans and murdering others. In another story, a man allegedly killed his wife by exposing her to a deadly poisonous cobra. He threw it on his wife which bit her twice as he watched it do so, sitting on another bed. The victim’s family immediately filed a complaint against the husband as he had reportedly tried the same act in March.
