Welcome SC stay on farm laws, involve states, stakeholders: Niranjan Reddy

HYDERABAD: In a cautious move Telangana Agriculture Minister, S Niranjan Reddy today welcomed the Supreme Court verdict to stay three controversial farm laws of the center.

The minister said that the agitating farmers have half won the battle against farm laws. Agriculture is completely the subject of the state he felt.

National Media is hiding news of farmers’ protests in Delhi the minister charged. With the court direction, the media is now writing-related stories with no other go he opined.

Reacting to the apex court delivering stay orders on the three farm laws he appealed that states and stakeholders be involved in the expert’s committee. Telangana government demands the center, and the court to take opinions from all other states and stakeholders.
We welcome that the country’s apex court has finally intervened in the matter.  Agriculture is a state matter and the center cannot dictate terms he opined.

The National Media is failing to highlight the plights of the farmers in the country’s capital.  The court asked whether the center will address the row through a dialogue with agitating farmers or it should intervene to solve the minister said.

It is for the center to resolve the impending crisis the minister said.  It is a good sign that the court has taken steps to resolve the issue he said.  The center should follow the court and find an amicable solution.
