West Bengal Extends Summer Vacations Over Extreme Heat Except For HIlly Areas

As per the latest updates, taking into account the heatwave conditions in West Bengal, the state government has expanded summer vacations in schools till June 26. In the meantime, the expansion of summer vacations won’t be suggested for schools in the hilly areas of the Darjeeling and Kalimpong areas, the state government warning expressed.

Head Secretary (Education) Manish Jain said in a notice that the decision was taken remembering the security of students. “As to pronouncing summer vacation in the schools because of outrageous intensity wave conditions, as reports of a couple of death cases because of intensity and moistness have been gotten, the capable authority has chosen to broaden the mid year vacation” the government statement said.

The notification was given toward the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and the West Bengal Board of Primary Education.
