While Telangana witnesses growth, BJP-ruled States struggle: Niranjan Reddy

S Niranjan Reddy, the Agriculture Minister of Telangana, said that while Telangana witnessed visible growth under K Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership, BJP-ruled states had been struggling because of a lack of basic amenities. Citizens were struggling to lead a normal life because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inefficiency and anti-people policies, he said.

After the oath-taking ceremony for the new office bearers of the Madanapur market committee in the Devarakadra constituency of Wanaparthy district, the Minister declared that agriculture was the primary sector in India, and its progress would propel the nation’s growth. According to him, Modi ignored farmers and served corporate interests that were dangerous to the country.

It is the only the Modi government asking farmers not to cultivate crops as it cannot purchase their paddy. Ironically, over 22 crore citizens of this country still struggle to eat two meals a day, he noted.

Under the BJP government, Niranjan Reddy said, prices skyrocketed and even essential commodities were becoming out of reach of the common man. The Prime Minister is taxing essential goods like milk and curd, just like the kings had imposed taxes on hair and beards in the past. The BJP is least concerned about the poor, he said.

Both the Centre and the State governments have emulated Chandrashekhar Rao’s innovative schemes over the past few years.

Telangana, however, was able to implement these innovative schemes unlike any state ruled by the BJP. In his recent visit to Gujarat, he found no farmers that were benefited from the State’s initiatives or policies.

The event was attended by Telangana State Medical Services Infrastructure Development Corporation (TSMSIDC) chairman Errolla Srinivas, Telangana State Warehousing Corporation chairman Saichand, Zilla Parishad chairman Loknath Reddy, and others.

Additionally, Niranjan Reddy questioned why Gujarat receives immediate flood relief while Telangana is not aided by the BJP-led Central Government. He added that a record amount of rainfall has occurred in the Godavari basin over the past 500 years.
