Winter in Hyderabad expected to get milder

The city experienced a brief reprieve from the biting cold wave that had gripped the city for the past few days, with temperatures rising in many places on Friday. The mist, however, persisted in isolated areas.

The minimum temperature was 16 degrees Celsius, one notch higher than on Thursday. With the sun shining brightly for the majority of the day, the maximum temperature also rose. The temperature rose to 31.1 degrees Celsius.

The latest forecast from India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad predicts that day and night temperatures will gradually rise by two to four degrees over the next five days. The rise may be accompanied by mist in isolated areas during the morning hours, but the sky will be mostly clear later.

The high temperatures are primarily due to low-level southerlies and south-easterlies that prevail over the state.

Meanwhile, minimum temperatures in some areas may remain between 11 and 15 degrees Celsius over the next three days. Adilabad, Kamareddy, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Medak, Nirmal, Sangareddy, Ranga Reddy, and Vikarabad have all received a yellow alert.

It is worth noting that the cold weather intensified across the city on Tuesday, with the temperature dropping to 9.9 degrees Celsius in Secunderabad. Other areas remained numb due to the extreme cold, with the average minimum temperature settling at 12 degrees Celsius. The departure from usual was -3.3 degrees Celsius.
