With Rahul gaining ground, Shah went into defensive mode: Shravan Garg

Expressing surprise over the statement made by Home Minister Amit Shah after watching that wind blowing infavour of Congress party due to Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Parliament, Shravan Garg, a renowned Hindi Journalist, said, “It appears that Amit Shah, the second most powerful political leader in the country and often considered aggressive in nature, has went into defensive mode due to the prevailing situation and is trying to find a way out to save the government.”

While taking part in a debate on a Hindi TV channel over the political situation created out of Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification, he said, “The whole cry behind Amit Shah’s statement makes a circle around Rahul Gandhi as he wants to know why the Congress leader is avoiding to file an appeal in the court of law against his disqualification and simply going between the public to expose BJP.”

“Amit Shah actually wants to say that Rahul is playing a victim card to gain public sympathy while similar incident were happened with BJP leaders too in the past but no outcry was made by them,” he said adding that “Shah’s overwhelming pain was that the Congress is gaining sympathy again out of Rahul’s disqualification which could make a dent in BJP’s progress especially in poll bond state of Karnataka where the party is facing stiff challenges this time.”

“Trouble is brewing for the BJP in Karnataka and it will accelerate further with Rahul Gandhi’s proposed visit to Kolar on April 5.”

Finding fault over the way Amit Shah tried to play an emotional card over Rahul Gandhi’s episode simply by pointing towards old incidents that happened in Gujarat, Shravan Garg said, “The whole battle is politically motivated and the Home Minister needs to fight it politically. The country is not ready to take it the way Amit Shah wants to handle it simply by raking the decades old incidents that took place in Gujarat.”
