With the announcement of schedule, UP all set to go for by-polls on three seats from Dec.

After releasing the schedule for by-polls in 6 States, the Election Commission has announced the same even for the by-elections in Uttar Pradesh where one Parliamentary segment and two assembly seats in Muzaffar Nagar district were left vacant.

Apart from Mainpuri Parliament constituency represented by Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, Khatoli and Rampur constituencies are also going to seek mandate in Uttar Pradesh after Vikram Singh Saini of BJP and Azam Khan of Samajwadi Party respectively declared ineligible by the Uttar Pradesh government.

According to the election commission, polling will be held on December 5 while results will be declared on December 8. The by-polls in Khatoli and Rampur became inevitable after the government declared BJP MLA Vikram Singh Saini and SP leader Azam Khan ineligible after they were found guilty by the court in different cases.

The BJP MLA Vikram Singh Saini was declared ineligible from membership of the Assembly after the court found him guilty in Kawal riots case and awarded him two years of jail besides fine of Rs.10,000/-. Following the judgement, Vikram Singh Saini’s primary membership of assembly was also withdrawn by the government.

Similarly, the Government also rescinded the membership of Azam Khan, the Samajwadi Party MLA from Rampur, after he was found guilty and awarded three years of jail in another case.

Apart from this, the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat became vacant after the demise of Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav last month.

As per the schedule, the election notification will be released on November 10 while the candidates will be allowed to file nominations till November 17. Scrutiny will be done on November 18 while the candidate will be allowed to withdraw their nominations by November 21. Polling will be held on December 5 and results will be declared on December 8.

With this all three segments became vacant and are going to seek mandate through by-elections for which process of filing nominations will begin from November 10 only to conclude on November 17. The fate of the candidate will be declared on December 8 for which polling will be held on December 5.
