Woman and her male relative thrown out of a moving train in MP’s Gwalior

A 30-year-old woman, who was traveling to Surat in Gujarat from Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, was allegedly thrown out of the moving train in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior by a group of men.

As per police, the accused, who were in the same compartment (Sleeper), misbehaved with the woman and when she resisted their advances, they threw the woman and her male relative out of the train.

The incident occurred on June 19 in Gwalior district. The matter came to light after the victim lodged a complaint at Bilaua police station.

In her complaint, the woman told the police that five men sitting in front of her were heavily drunk. They were using very abusive language and they were hurling comments.

Further, they (the accused) started clicking photos, following which, the woman resisted. After a brief argument, the woman and her male relative left their seats and were standing at the gate. Later, the accused also reached the door and the argument started, and in the meantime, they threw the woman and her male relative from the moving train, the police said.

The area, where they were thrown, was a dense forest. However, the victims managed to reach a village after walking around 5-6 km. “It was around 12:30 p.m. when the accused threw the victims. They managed to reach a village and then reached a local hospital,” the police said.

Both the victims were admitted to a hospital and they were recovering, the police said. The police officer also said 65-70 passengers were traveling in the same apartment.

“We have requested Indian Railways to share the details of all those passengers. Once the details are available, we will proceed with further investigation,” Gwalior Police said.
