Roja, a 27-year-old inhabitant of Darshangadthanda in the municipality of Atchampet, was admitted to the local government hospital for childbirth on August 15.Roja successfully delivered a baby boy by a Caesarean section (C-section). She was released from the hospital after three days of observation.

Unfortunately, Roja’s condition deteriorated after she returned home, as she developed difficulties and severe bleeding. Concerned for her health, her relatives rushed her back to the government hospital for immediate medical assistance.Recognizing the seriousness of Roja’s condition, the medical team at the government hospital recommended that she be sent to a private hospital in Hyderabad for expert care.

Following Roja’s unexpected death, her family and friends staged a protest. They accused Dr. Krishna and the medical personnel at the government hospital of being careless. They claimed that the retained cotton swabs caused significant blood loss, which resulted to Roja’s tragic death.

The local police department initiated an investigation in response to the family’s formal complaint. As a result, Dr. Krishna was suspended awaiting further investigation into the occurrence.

The suspension of Dr. Krishna underscores the seriousness with which authorities are dealing with this issue, emphasizing the necessity of accountability and patient-centered care within the medical profession.
