Worried over closer of schools, people start stocking groceries in homes

With the closer of schools in the state after the reported increase in coronavirus cases in education institution, the panic brings back the memories of lockdown last year as worried people in the city start rinsing out what ever wherewithal left with them fearing the situation may take a more ugly turn in the days to come.

 

From morning itself the speculations starts ripening that the government may re-impose lockdown in the state owing to substantial increase in the covid-19 cases that has already crippled several states in the country especially the neighbouring Maharashtra where restrictions was invoked due to outbreak of contagion again.

Though the Telangana government made it clear that there are no plans to impose general lockdown or curfew in the state, the panic people were seen expressing concern about the prevailing situation for the heck of it.

Several people were seen rushing towards markets and stores to buy grocery in order to ensure sufficient stock in their homes fearing the government may take more strict measures to in the days to come to arrest the contagion from spreading if the situation remains persisting.

Soon after the announcement of the Education Minister P.Sabitha Indra Reddy in the assembly today about the closer of schools in the state, the panic grips the masses who take no time to apprehend that the next step of the government would come in the form of complete lockdown similar the one imposed last year when the virus first broke out and grips the whole world affecting every human life on the globe.

With just a word of mouth, the speculations spread like a wild fire making people especially the small businessmen worried who are getting themselves prepared this year for the coming festive season of Ramzan after suffering heavy loss last year.

Several businessmen especially the fruit merchants in the city were seen busy expressing concern over the prevailing situation and the much arguable lockdown which has already ravaged their lives last year and is hunting them again.

The memories of last year’s lockdown strikes a chord with several merchants start expressing their concerns about the lockdown soon after listening that the government has imposed a ban of schools due to increasing cases of Covid-19 that largely reported from schools.

“No doubt that the lockdown will take a toll on our business if the government decides to impose it again on the people. We had already bear the brunt of restricts with no wherewithal left to survive during the ending days of lockdown. At a time when the business is gradually ramping up, the pandemic again raised its hood to sting the already crippled economic state and this is really made us worried and completely dejected,” Informed Imran a fruit merchant at Madina Circle.
