In a strange case, a 22-year-old Dialed 100 and requested police to provide two bottles of beer in Doulatabad, Telangana, was booked for misusing the service. A case has been registered.
Jinagala Madhu, who hails from Narsapur Village, Doultabad Mandal, also argued with the police that they are public servants who need to serve the community and that bringing him beer is also necessary.
Around 2 am on Friday, May 5, Madhu arrived in Goka Faslabad to attend a wedding and informed the police that he was being attacked by a group of people. He sent an SOS message to the police.
A night patrol team in the area rushed to his house but found him to be fine and in an inebriated state.
When the night patrol team reached the spot, they didn’t find any disturbance. Instead, Madhu allegedly told them that his emergency was getting hold of two bottles of beer and that the police should address it. As soon as the police collected his details, they brought him to the station, where he was counselled along with his father.
Sub-inspector Ramesh Kumar, later on, appealed to the public to use the Dial 100 service only in case of true emergencies. He added that a case was registered and Madhu was counselled at the police station.

A man from the Nalgonda district also called dial 100 six times earlier on March 19 stating that it was an emergency.
After the police reached the house, he admitted to calling to complain because his wife had refused to cook mutton curry.
Kanagal SI Nagesh urged residents not to abuse the dial 100 service, which is designed to assist individuals in distress or during crises. He said that a case was filed against Naveen for wasting police officers’ time by dialling 100 on an irrelevant issue.
