182 Women Break Record by Boarding Palle Velugu Bus, Nearly Causing Deflation of Rear Tires

In response to the Congress party’s promise, women have been enjoying free rides on RTC buses for the past week after the recent elections. However, a new development requires them to show identity cards starting this Friday.

Thanks to the Mahalakshmi scheme, all RTC buses are operating at full capacity. Women predominantly occupy Palle Velugu and Express bus services, leaving luxury, super luxury, and AC buses filled with male passengers. In a noteworthy incident, a Palle Velugu bus at Dhanwada in Mahabubnagar district carried a record-breaking 182 women, leading to an unexpected challenge.

As the bus set out on its journey to Narayanapeta on Wednesday morning, the TS 06 UP 3411 bus from Mahabubnagar depot encountered a peculiar situation.

At the JPNec Engineering College, 30-40 students disembarked, making room for more women to board. However, the bus exceeded its capacity, resulting in fumes emanating from the rear tires as it reached Marikal.

Promptly responding to the situation, the driver took quick action, halting the bus to ensure passenger safety. The burning smell and fumes prompted the driver to transfer the commuters to other buses, preventing any potential hazards.

This incident highlights the challenges that can arise when buses operate beyond their intended capacity, even in the pursuit of fulfilling political promises.
