22 states to receive ‘Made in Telangana’ national flags: Srinivas Goud

The distribution of Telangana-made national flags for every household to hoist on Independence Day was a proud moment, said Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud.

Besides Telangana, 22 other states were receiving national flags produced by weavers in Telangana for Independence Day celebrations, he said.

At Monnappa Gutta here on Tuesday, the Minister distributed national flags to households, saying that every household should hoist the national flag on Independence Day.

The Minister instructed the officials to ensure that tricolors were distributed to every household. In celebration of 75 years of Indian independence, the State Government was celebrating “Svathantra Bharata Vajrotsvalu” on a grand scale, and students and youth were encouraged to participate in large numbers.

At AVD Cinemas, the Minister and students watched ‘Gandhi’ earlier in the day. He said that the struggles and sacrifices made by the freedom fighters should inspire the present generation to achieve their goals and serve society.

Mahatma Gandhi achieved freedom through non-violence, and all sections must follow it in order to ensure peace and harmony, said Srinivas Goud.
