Telangana Government and NSE Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Boost MSMEs Growth

The Telangana government and the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to assist MSMEs in the state’s growth.

In the presence of KT Rama Rao, Minister of Municipal Administration & Urban Development, ITE&C, Industries and Commerce, Government of Telangana, the MoU was signed by Hari K, chief business officer, NSE, and Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Telangana, in Hyderabad.

As part of the MoU, the NSE, with the support of the Telangana government, will conduct an awareness drive through seminars, MSME camps, knowledge sessions, roadshows, and workshops to guide corporates across the state in fundraising on the NSE Emerge platform, as well as assist companies in the listing process.

On its part, the Telangana government will make it easier for MSMEs to get listed on the NSE Emerge by looking at ways to repay a percentage of expenses paid in raising funds, with a pre-defined maximum limit, in order to encourage MSMEs to raise capital through SME exchanges. On the Exchange platform, the Telangana government will also investigate the idea of establishing a government-sponsored equity participation fund to invest in the state’s fast-growing SMEs.

“Telangana State is at the forefront of taking efforts to help the State’s MSMEs expand as huge businesses,” stated K T Rama Rao, Minister of Municipal Administration & Urban Development, ITE&C, Industries and Commerce, Government of Telangana. This collaboration will assist MSMEs in raising financing through capital markets via an IPO and benefiting from being a listed firm.”

“The Government of Telangana has been at the forefront to give ease of business for MSMEs,” said Jayesh Ranjan, senior secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Telangana. To bolster our position, the Telangana government signed an MoU with the National Stock Exchange of India to allow SMEs to list on the NSE Emerge platform in order to obtain finance more efficiently and scale up their businesses to compete worldwide.”

“National Stock Exchange and Government of Telangana have joined hands to aggressively collaborate to help the State’s SMEs to list on the NSE Emerge platform,” said Hari K, the chief business officer of the NSE. NSE Emerge enables SMEs to list on the stock market and acquire financing in a cost-effective manner. We, at the NSE, would guide SMEs through the listing process, allowing them to achieve the next stage of growth.”
