Chief Secretary directed Collectors to be alert on heavy rains

As more heavy rains were forecast by Metrological department officials in North Telangana districts, the state government has alerted district officials.

In a video conference, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar directed the collectors of all districts and electricity and other departments to be alert on heavy rains. The CS instructed them to be extra alert on the forecast and take all measures so that people in low-lying areas are not affected. They must be shifted in advance in the case of inundation by closely monitoring the situation of the rainfall, he said. There shall not be loss of lives and properties in the most affected districts, the Chief Secretary instructed the collectors and other officials.

He said that as per the directions of the   Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, along with DGP  Mahender Reddy from BRKR Bhavan today regarding weather conditions of the  North Telangana districts particularly in erstwhile Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam with all Districts Collectors, Superintendent of  Police, Police Commissioners and Chief Engineers of Irrigation departments.

They have been directed to be vigilant on rainfall which the metrological department had forecasted heavy rainfall in Telangana. He directed to alert people residing in low-lying areas, he also directed electricity department officials to be careful and closely monitor the situation.  He directed all the field-level officers to maintain headquarters.

The Chief Secretary instructed all Collectors to conduct teleconferences with all officials to closely monitor the situation in the districts and take steps wherever necessary.
