CM KCR’s Medak Visit Rescheduled Due to Forecasted Rainfall

The intended visit of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to Medak district on August 19 has been rescheduled for August 23 due to a significant rainfall anticipated in Telangana by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad.

The IMD Hyderabad issued a yellow signal for Telangana on August 18 and 19, 2023, anticipating rainfall over the state as well as thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls. The Chief Minister’s visit has been rescheduled in light of the weather forecast to guarantee the safety and convenience of the visit.

Telangana has seen above-average rainfall during the current monsoon season. The state received 582.4 mm of rain on average, exceeding the typical level of 466.9 mm. Notably, the district of Siddipet had the largest departure of 65 percent from the national average.

The current monsoon season’s cumulative rainfall in Hyderabad has reached 450.1 mm, above the average rainfall of 363.3 mm. The areas of Maredpally and Charminar saw the greatest divergence from the average rainfall, at 49 percent.

Despite the existence of El Nino conditions this year, other Telangana districts have also experienced an excess of rainfall, demonstrating the flexibility of weather patterns.
