Congress CWC Meeting and Telangana Development Pledges

The Congress Working Committee (CWC) conference is due to begin on Saturday in Hyderabad, with Congress leaders pledging to usher in a new age of development with dignity for the people of Telangana and India.

Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, addressing on the eve of the CWC meeting, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the people of Telangana. She underscored the Congress’s long-standing support for Telangana’s inhabitants’ goals and stated that it was time to lead the state into a period of progress and prosperity.

“We had made a promise to the people of Telangana,” Sonia Gandhi said. We kept our end of the bargain. The Congress Party has consistently supported the people of Telangana’s ambitions. It is now time to lead the state towards a new age of wealth and progress.”

Furthermore, Sonia Gandhi underscored the Congress Working Committee’s preparedness to draft a new chapter of development characterized by dignity for all, both in Telangana and across the country.

The president of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), Mallikarjun Kharge, presented a statement emphasizing the Congress’ commitment to democracy, social justice, progress, and equality. He said that the party would fight for national integrity and unity in diversity in the future.

“Congress fought for and ushered in democracy, social justice, progress, and equality in our great nation,” Kharge said. We shall continue to struggle for national integrity and diversity-based unification.” In accordance with these valued ideals, he continued, the Congress Working Committee would develop a comprehensive plan to lead the party to victory and improve the nation’s and people’s future.

The CWC meeting, chaired over by Mallikarjun Kharge, will take place on Saturday afternoon in a Hyderabad hotel. This is notable as the first meeting of the newly formed CWC under Kharge’s presidency. The CWC, the Congress party’s highest decision-making body, will discuss tactics for the 2018 elections in five state legislatures and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The CWC’s 84 members, including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, are anticipated to attend. Furthermore, on Sunday, the CWC would extend its meeting to include all Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) presidents and Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leaders.

To cap off the occasion, a big public rally would be organized on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Sunday evening at Tukkuguda. During this rally, the Congress party will present its six promises for the Telangana Assembly elections, emphasizing its commitment to the state’s development and advancement.
