Delhi Police Links Olympic Wrestler Sushil Kumar To Murder; Issues Lookout Notice

The Delhi Police has issued a “lookout notice” for a well-known wrestler named Sushil Kumar. He is being connected to the murder of a former junior international wrestler.

Sushil Kumar Is Absconding, Delhi Police Reports 

As per the latest reports, the Delhi police has issued a ‘lookout notice’ against Sushil Kumar who is a double Olympic medalist. He is being linked to the murder of a former junior international wrestler at the Chhatrasal Stadium in North-West Delhi.

The Delhi police have reported that Shushil Kumar is absconding. He was employed with the Indian Railways and was posted as an Officer on Special Duty at the Chhattrasal Stadium from the Sports wing of the Delhi Education Sports Department.

Dr. Guripal Singh Sidhu, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West Delhi) spoke to the media and said that they have issued a notice against Sushil Kumar.

23-Year-Old Wrestler Dies After Brawl With Other Wrestlers

The Delhi police issued the notice on late Sunday. Kumar who is named in the FIR lodged is currently on a run and efforts are being made to trace him. The victim, Sagar Dhankar, 23 years old died during the brawl and two other wrestlers were brutally assaulted and have been admitted to the hospital.

Kumar is not only being traced in Delhi but also in the neighbouring states as well. The police said that the fight was reportedly over vacating a flat in the Model Town area. The wrestlers and the other people present during the incident confirmed that Sushil Kumar was present at the time of the brawl.

The incident includes Sushil Kumar, Ajay, Prince Dala, Sonu, Sagar, Amit and a few others. A case has been registered against them under the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act at the Model Town. Dalal has been apprehended.
