Following incessant rain on Monday – that last the city and suburban area and battered several low lying areas Yesterday, the officials at Himayat Sagar Lake has lifted one gate again to release the water into Musi River course.
According to Sources, the Monday night rain brought fresh inflows into the lake that prompted them to reopen the gate just a few days after it was closed. “As the lake receives inflows of 400 cusecs, one gate was opened upto one foot at 2.30 pm today to release 350 cusecs of water into Musi River. The present water level at Himayath Sagar Lake stood at 17.25 feet (2.875 TMC) as against the full tank capacity of 1763.50 feet (2.97 TMC),” the official informed.
