Government Hospital Superintendent Arrested in Hyderabad for Alleged Bribery

In a noteworthy step, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials arrested Dr. Lavudya Lachu, the superintendent of a government hospital in Nalgonda, on suspicion of receiving a bribe of Rs 3 lakh.The accused allegedly sought the money in exchange for a favor from a medicine distributor named Rapolu Venkanna.

Acting on Venkanna’s accusation, theAnti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided Dr. Lavudya’s Nalgonda apartment. During the operation, officials discovered the alleged tainted bribe in the superintendent’s briefcase. Dr. Lavudya Lachu was arrested and is scheduled to appear before a special court.

This event follows another recent bribery case, in which an ACB operation resulted in the arrest of a Tahsildar from Shamirpet Mandal in the Medchal Malkajgiri district. The official was caught receiving a bribe worth Rs 10 lakh.

The ACB’s prompt response demonstrates its commitment to combating corruption inside government institutions. The arrests convey a strong message that people who engage in unethical acts will be held accountable, regardless of their position or influence.
