Govt Spent Rs 6555 Cr to Plant 239 Cr Saplings

Forest and Environment Minister A Indrakaran Reddy today informed the Assembly that Haritha Haram increased green cover in the state.

It will continue in the future by involving people and others he said during a brief debate on haritha Haram in the session. The minister claimed that the government has spent Rs 6555.97 cr so far planting 239 crores of saplings across the state. It is a history and record that the many other states in India are following suit, he said.

The state government expands the greenery as other states are appreciating our efforts, he claimed. He attributed the green drive of Haritha Haram as the brainchild of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. KCR, he said, is committed to a green drive and set up a number of nurseries in every mandals and village.

The government will continue the Haritha Haram to increase green cover, the minister said.

He also appreciated that Green challenge drive MP Santhosh Kumar is a big success as the celebrities, noted personalities, and business people taking up the green drive. This is important for our future generations to have a non-polluted environment and we shoulder responsibility, Indrakaran Reddy said.
