Heavy Rains Continue in Hyderabad, IMD Issues Yellow Alert for the Week

Hyderabad and several parts of Telangana experienced heavy downpours on Tuesday evening, with the rainfall expected to continue throughout the week. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for October 2, warning of thunderstorms and rain in multiple districts, including Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal-Malkajgiri.

According to the IMD, the city will witness intermittent rain, with more intense showers occurring in the evenings. On Wednesday, October 2, similar weather patterns are expected, with light rain in the daytime followed by heavier showers in the evening. The forecast suggests a likelihood of rain continuing on October 3, particularly in the late evening or night.

Temperatures are predicted to remain relatively consistent throughout the week, with minimum temperatures hovering around 23°C and maximum temperatures reaching up to 33°C.

Rain to Decrease from October 4

From October 4 to October 6, Hyderabad will experience a cloudy sky, with the intensity of the rain expected to decrease. During this period, the temperatures will remain mild, ranging from 22°C to 23°C at night and 32°C to 33°C during the day.

Possible Thunderstorms on October 7 and 8

While the rain intensity may reduce later in the week, the IMD has predicted the possibility of thunderstorms on October 7. The sky is expected to be partly cloudy, and temperatures will rise slightly, with minimum temperatures around 24°C and maximum temperatures peaking at 34°C.

On October 8, rain or thundershowers are likely to return, with a partly cloudy sky and temperatures similar to those of the previous day.

IMD Advisory

With the continued possibility of thunderstorms and heavy rains, the IMD has urged residents to remain cautious, particularly during the yellow alert. Commuters are advised to avoid waterlogged areas and travel with care. City authorities are expected to monitor the situation, especially in flood-prone zones, to ensure smooth functioning of essential services.

The week ahead brings fluctuating weather conditions for Hyderabad, with the possibility of rain continuing into the weekend. Citizens are encouraged to stay updated on local weather alerts and take necessary precautions.
