Hindustan Syringes and Medical Devices Completes 500 million Syringes Supply Amidst Export Ban

In the latest update, the Hindustan Syringes and Medical Devices have achieved a new milestone of supplying 500 million 0.5 ml AD syringes to the government for the Covid 19 vaccination programme.

Next Lot Of Syringes Is Ready To Dispatch

As per the statement released by the company, they said that they had achieved the milestone on October 11. At the same time, the company has already prepared and inspected the next lot of 16.3 million syringes and are ready to dispatch.

In the statement, the Managing Director of HMD, Rajiv Nath said that to ensure that there is no shortage of syringe as India continues to run the vaccination drive against the Covid 19 virus, the company has preponed their supply of syringe to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He said that so far they have already supplied the Government of India with 500 million pieces of KOJAK AD Syringes to help vaccinate over 685 million people.

Meanwhile, the company is not accepting any of the export orders and has diverted the supply of 100 million pieces from an order from the UNICEF to the government from September to December 2021.

However, Nath said that the company regrets that the government of India had to temporarily restrict the export. And it could have been avoided with better planning. This comes after the government had put quantitative restriction on the export of syringes as to not hamper the domestic supply.

HMD Supplied Syringe Order On Time Or Before

As per the reports, from December last year, HMD has received the order from the government of India for a total of 753.10 million pcs of 0.5 ml Kojak Ad Syringes.

Nath said in the statement that additionally, HMD has also been supplying most of the 1ml/2ml DispoVan and 0.5ml/2ml Kojas AD syringes that are being used in the private sector for Covid 19 vaccination.

He informed that all the orders received from December 2020 were delivered on time or before the committed time.
