Hyderabad Airport Receives Two Awards for Landscape Maintenance

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) has been recognized with two awards at the 7th Garden Festival-2022 organized by the Department of Horticulture. The awards were given to GHIAL for its outstanding maintenance of landscape gardens and traffic islands/dividers, both in the category of private companies maintaining over 90 acres.

GHIAL received the awards at a ceremony held at the Public Gardens in Nampally, where they were presented by S Niranjan Reddy, the Minister for Agriculture & Horticulture. The awards were judged by a panel of distinguished horticulturists and senior horticulture officials from the state government, who conducted a detailed inspection of the competitors.

GHIAL’s lush and thriving natural ecosystem, which is home to diverse flora and fauna, has been widely acclaimed for its green initiatives. The airport has set a benchmark for sustainability as the first in the country to pioneer such a landscape.

The awards are a testament to GHIAL’s continued commitment to environmental sustainability and its dedication to creating an eco-friendly airport experience.
