Hyderabad: Challan info will be sent by Whatsapp to motorists

With WhatsApp, the Hyderabad Traffic Police can now inform motorists about the penalties they face for violating traffic laws while driving.

Police have launched a new campaign against the widespread use of WhatsApp. Traffic Police have sent warnings to the car owner’s cell phone so far. In light of the fact that the police have now received the Transportation Department’s phone numbers and addresses, they have decided to leverage WhatsApp.

The Traffic Police control room usually transmits all postal challans and messages. The e-challan branch of the Traffic Police in Hyderabad posts the traffic penalties associated with each vehicle’s registration number on the e-challan webpage. Next, a message is sent to the vehicle owner’s mobile phone, followed by a postal challan.

Now that WhatsApp is included in the list, the violator is asked to pay the challan online or at Meeseva.

The farmer sells fresh mangoes on Facebook in Macherial

Young farmer Kondapalli Sharath, from Nennal Mandal, developed a novel way to market mangoes. He sold mangoes to customers directly using WhatsApp and Facebook rather than selling to agents who sell at exorbitant prices to customers, thereby making a profit.

Sharath announced on April 28 on his Facebook page that he will be selling organic mangoes while driving in Hyderabad. Customers could place orders in a group created on WhatsApp that also displayed his location, enabling them to track him and pick up their mangoes up to 300 kilo meters away.

The decision of this native of Nandulapalli village, in Nennal Mandal, caught the attention of users of social media platforms and gained 341 shares on Facebook. A number of his followers and friends expressed interest in buying mangoes after hearing his novel idea. After receiving such a large response, he went live on Facebook to help people find his location.
