Hyderabad: Free COVID-19 booster drive to be held in Karwan

A COVID-19 vaccination camp will be held in the Karwan constituency to administer booster doses for all those over the age of 18 as part of ‘Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav’ in celebration of the 75th anniversary of independence.

The camp will last 75 days. The free booster dose camp was inaugurated on Sunday at Tolichowki’s MD Lines community hall by Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin and Dr. Anurada.

The vaccine will be administered to those in the 18 to 59 age and 60 years above age group.

From July 15 to September 30, this vaccination campaign will last 75 days. In an appeal to all eligible adults, Karwan MLA urged them to get their booster shots. Among those present were corporation presidents, area presidents, and workers.

COVID-19 situation in Telangana

Telangana recorded 441 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the total number of infections in the state to 8,09,778, according to a health department bulletin. According to the report, no new fatalities were reported as a result of the infection, and the death toll remained at 4,111.

Hyderabad had the most cases with 272, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri district with 26 and Ranga Reddy district with 21. Today, 692 people recovered from the infectious disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 8,01,018.

According to the bulletin, there were 4,649 active cases. Today, 21,616 samples were tested, bringing the total number of samples examined to 3,60,39,789. The case fatality rate was 0.5%, and the recovery rate was 98.92%.

Director of Public Health G. Srinivasa Rao has encouraged patients suffering from flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, running nose, breathing difficulty, body aches, and headache to report to the nearest government health facility and obtain medical services as soon as possible, with or without test results, where arrangements have been made for free testing and treatment.
