Hyderabad: Haj Committee extends last date for payment of first instalment for Haj 2023

For selected pilgrims of Haj 2023, the Haj Committee of India has extended the deadline for paying the first instalment of travel expenses until April 15. A statement was issued by the chief executive of the Haj Committee of India informing the state Haj committees of the extension.

A first instalment of Rs 81,800 can be deposited online by selected pilgrims for the 2023 hajj, he said. On the representation of state Haj committees, the date has been extended until April 15. By April 18, selected pilgrims will be required to submit pay slips, application forms, medical screening and fitness certificates, and international passports.

A total of 5,278 pilgrims from Telangana have been selected for Haj 2023. Around 4,000 pilgrims have submitted their first instalment online. It is likely that the rest of the pilgrims would be able to perform Haj if the date were extended. Telangana Haj Committee Chairman Mohammed Saleem said special counters have been set up where pilgrims can pay online. Documents should be submitted before the due date by pilgrims paying the first instalment.

The Government of Saudi Arabia is making extraordinary arrangements for 1.75 lakh pilgrims from India to perform Haj this year. It is being attempted to keep accommodations near Harmeen for Indian pilgrims.

In the first training camp, Saleem said that “it is necessary to observe 40 prayers in Madinah. Pilgrims should be engaged in worship most of the time and not worry about the world. Videography, photography, use of social media, and phone conversations should be avoided in Harmeen.”

In the meantime, the second training camp for Telangana Haj pilgrims will take place at Masjid Darul Irfan Red Hills on April 16.
