Hyderabad: Wife catches city police inspector with another woman

A city police inspector was caught red-handed by his wife in a car at Vanasthalipuram on Thursday night when he was allegedly with another woman. According to reports, the inspector abused and attacked the police who reached the scene based on information provided by the wife.

The inspector, identified as Raju, who worked in the South Zone Police Control Room, accompanied by the woman, reportedly drove in a car into the interior of the Sagar Complex at Vanasthalipuram. His wife, who suspected he was having an extramarital affair, followed them and caught them.

Upon being informed, the Vanasthalipuram police arrived on the scene and tried to arrest the inspector, but he resisted and attacked the policemen, injuring constable Ramakrishna and a home guard, Nagarjuna Naidu.

According to K. Satyanarayana, the station house officer of Vanasthalipuram, constables Ramakrishna and Nagarjuna Naidu, who were on their night patrol, intervened when Raju’s wife claimed she had caught him and an unidentified woman in the interiors of the Sagar complex in the locality.

After more policemen arrived, the inspector was overpowered and taken to Vanasthalipuram police station. A case has been filed against the inspector for obstruction of duties, abuse, and assault of police officers.

“When confronted by the two constables, Raju began abusing and ordered them to back off. He then assaulted them. As a result of his assault, Ramakrishna sustained injuries on his face. Further, when head constable Venu Gopal reached the spot to shift the inspector for a breathalyzer test, Raju resisted and abused him,” said the police, adding that Raju was charged with assault on duty officers under sections 353, 427, and 332 of the IPC.

According to sources, Raju, a 2002 batch officer, has worked as a detective inspector and was also assigned bandobast duty at Munugode.
