Increasing enrollments in govt schools in Telangana due to English medium education

Government schools are receiving more students because English medium education has been introduced in the schools and basic amenities have been provided by the state government under the Mana Ooru Mana Badi program.

The number of students who have taken admission in Government schools has reached 81,22,956. Until the end of June, teachers at government and local bodies schools will continue their admission campaign.

Government schools are becoming more popular among parents and guardians in place of private schools. Over 3000 students took admission in government schools on June 18 in a single day.

As of this school year, English medium education has been introduced in government schools in Telangana from standards 1st to 8.

As a result of the collaboration between Azim Premji University and local authorities, more than 1,04,000 teachers from government schools were trained in English medium education.   Telugu and English-language syllabus books are being provided by the government.

A total of Rs. 7,289 crores will be spent on basic amenities in 26,065 Government schools phase by a phase during the next three years under the Mana Ooru-Mana Badi program.  In addition to 18,240 primary schools, 3,164 upper primary schools, and 4,661 high schools, basic amenities are to be provided.   In addition to drinking water, furniture, staff, washrooms, and repairs to school buildings, these amenities must be provided.

Admission to this government school costs Rs 5,000

Despite parents’ concerns over hefty fees for admission to private schools in Telangana, this government-run school is offering Rs 5,000 to parents who admit their children. The local Mandal Parishad elementary school in Godhumakunta village in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district was urged to accept new students by public representatives.

Parents were encouraged to send their children to government schools by Sarpanch Mahendra Reddy and his deputy Anjaneyulu. Additionally, a Flexi was displayed at the school entrance by the public representatives for the purpose of announcing the offer. The article also highlights the main features of the school and the facilities it offers for students.

Donations made by donors have enabled the management of the school to provide all the children with the necessary facilities. Additionally, the school provides two pairs of uniforms, shoes, socks, books, bags, and bus passes for free. A midday meal will also be provided to students as part of the state government’s program. In addition to sprucing up the school, the local body has also ensured that the school premises have sufficient greenery. English and Telugu mediums are available at the school.
