Justice Prashant Kumar sworn in as Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice

Justice Prashant Kumar Misra was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court of the state.

The governor of the State Biswabhushan Harichandan administration the oath office to the Chief Justice. The event was held at Tummalapally Kala Kshetram of the city.

The Chief Minister of the state YS Jaganmohan Reddy also attended the swearing-in ceremony. State ministers like Botsa Satyanarayana, Vellampali Srinivas, a couple of MLAs of the state, and high court judges and advocates also took part in the event.

Misra was born on August 29, 1964, at Raigarh from Chattisgarh state. He completed his BSc and LLB degrees from Guru Ghasidas University in Bilaspur. He enrolled himself as an advocate on September 4, 1987 and took up legal practice in Raigarh district court and Madhya Pradesh high court at Jabalpur. He also practiced at Chattisgarh High Court in Bilaspur.

Misra also worked as the additional Advocate General of the state from June 26,2004 to august 31,2007 and as advocate general from September 1,2007. Later, He was elevated as the judge of Chattisgarh High Court on December 2009. Misra was working as the acting Chief Justice of Chattisgarh High Court before his elevation as the Chief Justice of AP high court.
