Andhra Pradesh Writes Letter to KRMB on Water Dispute

The interstate water dispute between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh state is deepening with each passing day. In a fresh development, the AP government has written a letter to the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) on the issue.

In its letter, the AP government has expressed its objections over the production of Hydel Power by its Telangana counterpart. It urged the board to take steps for the suspension of the power generation in Srisailam, Nagarjuna Sagar, and Pulichinthala irrigation projects.

It told the board that the generation of the Hydel power was leading to the loss of water from the Krishna river.

It also urged the board to include the water used for power generation by the Telangana government into its existing allocated water quota.
