Hyderabad: Is the newly elected MLC of the ruling TRS party K. Kavitha is likely to be inducted into his father CM KCR’s cabinet? The buzz is already rife in the corridors of state politics that Kavitha will soon be inducted into the state cabinet.
This can be gauged from the statement of the ruling TRS party MLAs Beegala Ganesh Gupta and Shakeel Ahmed that Kavitha would be inducted into the state cabinet.
Out of the 823 votes polled, Kavitha got 728 votes and won the elections with a thumping majority by defeating her rivals from Congress and BJP.
Kavitha who has lost from Nizamabad MP seat during the last Lok Sabha elections has won from the soil as the MLC.
The ruling TRS party has taken up the elections in a prestigious manner as Kavitha is the daughter of none other than the CM of the state KCR.
State minister B. Prashant Reddy, who hails from the Nizamabad district and all the ruling party MLAs from the district has worked hard to ensure the victory of Kavitha ever since the election notification was released.
The ruling party has welcomed several opposition party leaders into its fold to ensure the defeat of the rival parties as part of its operation Akarsh.
It may be noted here that Kavitha has given her re-entry from the same place where she tested defeat.
It now becomes the hot topic as to why the ruling party has fielded Kavitha from the MLC whose term would end in the next 15 months.
However, it has also become equally interesting as to how Kavitha will be accommodated in the state cabinet which is already in complete shape as per the Indian constitution. Only 17 ministers can be accommodated in the state cabinet as per the Indian constitution.
If the CM wants to induct Kavitha into the state cabinet, he would have to remove one of his cabinet colleagues. It has now become interesting as to what step the CM would take up in the days to come.
The Chief Minister will have to remove any of the current ministers from SC, BC, and ST community to accommodate his daughter. Reports are also rife that the CM may give any kind of post to his daughter with a cabinet rank.
