KTR asks farmers not to worry after unseasonal rains wreak havoc on their crops

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao urged farmers to be brave and not worry after unseasonal rains wreaked havoc on their crops in Sircilla, saying the State government would provide all support and assistance to farmers who lost their crops.

On Tuesday, the Minister examined damaged paddy in fields in Guntapalli Cheruvu Thanda, Yellareddypet mandal, and Veernapalli, in addition to visiting the paddy procurement center in Gopalapalli, Mustabad mandal.

Interacting with the farmers who were in tears, the minister comforted them by assuring them that the State government was on their side and that the government was committed to providing all assistance to affected farmers. He urged them to be brave while also urging the farming community not to give up hope.

Apart from the harvested crop that was damaged while being stored in procurement centers, the State government would also purchase the standing crop that was damaged in the fields, he said, adding that farmers with lavani patta would be compensated.

Nobody was to blame for the current situation because the crops were harmed by the untimely rains. The state government was providing adequate water, power, fertilizers, and other facilities to farmers, but it was not possible for anybody to prevent rains.

He stated that affected farmers would receive the highest compensation available in the country.
