Last down ramp on PVNR Expressway inaugurated

The last down ramp on the 11.60-kilometer-long PVNR elevated expressway at Laxmi Nagar here was inaugurated to the public on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., providing relief to motorists.

Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav inaugurated the down ramp at Laxmi Nagar near PVNR expressway Pillar number 88 in Mehdipatnam.

The ramp was built under the EPC system to ease traffic movement from Aramgarh, Shamshabad, and the neighbouring areas towards Gudimalkapur and Gachibowli, Jubilee Hills, Filmnagar, Tolichowki, and Hitec City.

The ramp has been completed and is now available to traffic. With this, all ramps and the PVNR expressway have been completed in every aspect. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) completed the project at a cost of Rs 9.63 crore. According to HMDA officials, the ramp is 195 metres long and the width 7 meters.

“For years, the plan to construct the ramp was put on hold because of a religious structure nearby,” said an HMDA official. “It was shifted following protracted discussions with the structure’s committee members, clearing the way for the project’s construction.”

With the Laxmi Nagar down ramp opened, motorists may directly land near the Rethibowli junction and proceed without traffic issues to Tolichowki, Madhapur, Financial District, Hitech City, Gachibowli, Old Mumbai Road, and Jubilee Hills. The down ramp will shorten the travel distance by five to six kilometres.

The elevated expressway from Mehdipatnam to Aramghar was built primarily for airport connectivity. At various points along the road, up to eight ramps were planned. Now all eight ramps have been opened to traffic.

Talasani Srinivas Yadav also laid the foundation for the construction of  Nallapochamma Temple on the VST to Vidyanagar route on Friday, as well as a bridge at the heritage shop on the vegetable market street on Nagmaiah Kunta Nala. The project’s anticipated cost is 12 crores.
