Mob Lynches Man in UP Accused of sodomizing & Killing Child

Bareilly: Twenty-six-year-old person, who had been accused of sodomizing, murdering, and hanging a four-year-old Child from a tree in July, was lynched by the victim’s family in Bareilly.

The man was on the run ever since he committed the crime and the local police had declared an award of Rs 25,000 for any information about him. Posters with photographs of the accused were additionally set up in a few locations by the police.

The family members of the child were able to catch the accused, Prempal, on Wednesday night and beat him to death with bricks and rods even before the police could arrive.

Subsequent to being attacked, Prempal was hurried to a hospital where doctors announced him brought dead.

“Prempal, who was wanted by the police in the sexual assault and murder of a 4-year-old boy, was beaten to death by a few people in Aonla area on Wednesday. We have arrested two people in the lynching case and both of them are the relatives of the boy. An FIR has been registered against two identified and other unidentified people for the murder,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Bareilly, Rohit Singh Sajwan, told reporters.

As indicated by the police, Prempal had been in hiding in Aonla in the Bareilly region.

It might be recalled that the four-year-old boy had disappeared on July 13 not long after he stepped out to play. He was last seen playing with Prempal, who had come to his home alongside a couple of relatives of the family, a day prior. At first, the family assumed that Prempal had kidnapped the boy for ransom.

However, a couple of hours later, they found the boy’s body hanging from a tree outside the village. Post-mortem examination indicated sexual assault and Prempal disappeared.

Police had filed an FIR under IPC sections 302 (murder), sections 377 (unnatural offences), 364 (kidnapping), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) and under segment 4/5 of POCSO Act against him.
