Amidst the rising cases of Covid 19 across the world and the resurgence of the new variants emerging, Nepal is seeking international help to fight against the pandemic virus. This comes after the numbers of Covid 19 cases skyrocketed in the Himalayan region.
Nepal’s Healthcare System Is Under Intense Pressure
As per the latest reports, the Health Ministry, Nepal’s health care system is under high pressure because of the Covid 19 spread and immediate steps need to be taken. On Saturday, Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli spoke to the media and said that he has urged the United Nations and other international bodies to help support Nepal’s fight against the pandemic virus.

He said that they are trying their best to protect the lives of the people and have taken steps to bring the situation in control as well. However, they still need help from international communities regarding vaccines, oxygen, critical care medicines and other life saving medicines.
Reports suggest that the Covid situation in Nepal seems to be resembling the situation in India. Both the countries are facing skyrocketing infections with overwhelmed hospitals and pleas for help from the international communities.
So far, Nepal has asked for support from India, China, European nations, United States of America and other countries.
Nepal Hospitals Run Out of Medical Supplies Amidst Rising Cases
Nepal reported a total 9196 cases with 50 deaths on Friday in the past 24 hours. The country has so far reported 377,603 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 3,579 deaths.
Some reports suggest that some of the hospitals in the country are also struggling with lack of oxygen supplies and the health infrastructure in on the edge of collapsing. People are struggling with hospital beds, ventilators and other critical care facilities.
Meanwhile, some of the hospitals have also started to refuse Covid patients because of lack of facilities.
