The State Election Commission (SEC) today issued a notification to hold Municipal Elections in two Municipal Corporations and five Municipalities of the State.
The names of the municipal corporations are Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation and Khammam Municipal Corporation and the names of the Municipalities are Siddipet, Achampet in Nagarkurnool district, Jadcherla in Mahabubnagar district, Kothur in Ranga Reddy district, and Nakrekal in Nalgonda District Municipalities.

The Election Commission authorities would receive nomination forms from the contesting candidates from April 16. The last date to submit the nomination forms is April 18. The scrutiny of the nomination papers would be taken up on April 19 of this month.
The nomination papers could be withdrawn on April 22. The polling will be held on April 30. The results of the elections would be declared on May 3.
The Election Commission has also announced that it would hold by-elections in 30 divisions of different Urban Local bodies on the same day. The seats fell vacant due to varied reasons including the death of the elected representatives. The names of these divisions are Lingojiguda division from GHMC and each ward from Gajwel, Nalgonda, Jalpally, Alampur, Bodhan, Parakal, Metpally, and Bellampally Municipalities.

While the term of the Siddipet Municipality would come to an end on Thursday, the Jadcherla, Kothur and Nakrekal Municipalities are newly formed municipalities. The collectors of respective districts have announced the reservations of different wards in the presence of representatives of various political parties of the State.
