Parts of Hyderabad to face disruption in water supply tomorrow

As per the latest reports, some parts of Hyderabad will face a disruption in the supply of drinking water for 24 hours starting at 6 am on July 13 due to the construction works for a flyover at Al Jubail Colony, Falaknuma.

Water supply disruptions are scheduled at the Godakondla substation due to transformer replacements. There will be a three-hour interruption in water supply in a few other areas on July 13.

Areas affected

There are a number of areas affected, including Kishanbagh, Al Jubail Colony, Santoshnagar, Vinaynagar, Saidabad, Chanchalguda, Asmangadh, Yakutpura, Madannapet, Mahbub Mansion, Riayasathnagar, Aliabad, and Balapur. The supply of drinking water will also be disrupted in Boggulakunta, Afzalgunj, Adikmet, Shivam Road, Nallakunta, Chilkalguda, Dilsukhnagar, Bonguloor, and Manneguda.

Affected areas also include Barkas Shastripuram, Maisaram, Bandlaguda, Bhojagutta, Shaikpet, Chintal Basti, Mekalamandi, Bholakpur, Jubilee Hills, Prashasan Nagar, and Filmnagar.

Meerpet, Gouthamnagar, Lenin Nagar, Badangpet and Turkayamjal, Tarnaka, Lalapet, Boudhanagar, Cantonment, Marredpally, Prakashnagar, Ferozguda, and Hasmathpet are among the other areas where water supply will be affected.

25 booked for having illegal water connections

There were 25 criminal cases filed in Hyderabad police stations in the span of five days against people possessing illegal water connections.

The highest number of criminal cases have been filed against people booked within five days for the first time in HMWS&SB’s history. Two out-sourcing employees of HMWS&SB, who colluded with property owners to fix illegal water connections, have also been permanently removed from their official duties.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Vigilance Wing of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) revealed that a total of 25 persons were found to have committed a criminal offense by installing illegal water connections during the past five days.

Vigilance inspectors have warned anyone involved in manipulating the water meters and issuing water bills against the proper readings of the water meters, causing revenue loss to the HMWS&SB, will face criminal charges and FIRs.
