Rachakonda police arrest four men selling ganja and hash oil

Four people were arrested in the city for organizing and peddling drugs across state lines. The Rachakonda police seized 52kg of marijuana, 1 litre of hash oil, four mobile phones, and cash from the accused.

Special Operations Teams (SOT) intercepted four people in possession of marijuana and hash oil based on intelligence. It was the Gareebrath train that the accused used to transport the drugs to Delhi.

They are identified as Fayyum (26), Junaid (26), Sarikh (22) and Mohammad Nazim (24), all from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Four travel bags, two backpacks containing 26 packets containing 52 kg of marijuana, one litre of hash oil packed in 25 bottles of 40 ml each, and four mobile phones were seized by the team.

It has been reported that the four accused were hired by an agent named Imran, who assigned them to pick up the seized material from a dealer in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Marijuana is procured locally by Vijay in Chintapalli and Paderu mandals in Visakhapatnam. He packages and sells it to various people, including Imran.

In accordance with Imran’s plan, the four accused arrived in Visakhapatnam on 5 April, where they picked up the consignment from Vijay and left for Delhi on a train bound for Hyderabad. As the four accused approached Hyderabad, the police intercepted them and took them in for questioning.

In another case, Hyderabad police arrested alleged drug peddler V Lakshmipati and a drug supplier in the case relating to the death of an engineering graduate who had overdosed on drugs.

Police confirmed last week that a 23-year-old unemployed Hyderabadi techie had overdosed due to a drug overdose. As a result, Lakshmipati has been on the run since last week.

Together with the Nallakunta police, the Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) arrested the suspects. A press conference was held by Deputy Commissioner of Police, H-NEW, G Chakravarthi to announce the arrests.
