Hyderabad: Congress party MP A. Revanth Reddy today demanded an explanation from union minister Prakash Javdekar on the Srisailam Hydropower project accident incident. He said that the pregnant women residing around the power project were having abortions as the atmosphere of that area got polluted due to fire
He said that the union minister had not taken any action on the issue although he submitted a personal representation to Javdekar and urged him to initiate action on the issue. He also said that the union minister had not taken any action on the issue of the construction of the state secretariat by violating existing environmental laws. He said that the permission of the union environment ministry was mandatory to take up any kind of construction in and around the Hussain Sagar lake area. He said that the supreme court of India had also given clear orders to not build any kind of permanent constructions in and around the lake.
Prakash Javdekar ji should answer before leaving from #Hyderabad as to why there was no action taken in these issues even after repeated representations.

He said that he had lodged a complaint with the union minister Prakash Javdekar on the issue of the construction of the state secretariat complex and submitted all kinds of evidence.

Reddy said that the union minister had not taken any action on the issue so far and added that the union minister was dodging the matter as he scared of being caught before the National Green Tribunal, which had asked the union environment ministry to file its counter in the issue while responding to a petition filed by the MP.
