Revanth Reddy’s Promises to Singareni Workers in Telangana

In a speech to Singareni workers in Bhupalapally, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President A. Revanth Reddy promised that if the Congress is elected to power in the upcoming Assembly elections, he will resolve all of the problems that employees of the state-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) are facing.

Revanth Reddy blamed the state’s governing Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for the workers’ woes, alleging that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao had forgotten the sacrifices made by Singareni employees during the state’s inception.

He also accused the BRS of backing the Centre’s privatization of Singareni mines, citing their support for the mining bill in Parliament. Reddy also chastised the state government for permitting one person to serve as chairman and Managing Director for an extended length of time.

Revanth Reddy questioned the delay in holding elections for the Singareni employees’ union and vowed that these elections will take place once the Congress took power in Telangana. He praised Singareni employees for their active engagement in the Telangana movement, claiming that their contributions were critical in the foundation of the state.

The Congress leader asked Singareni employees to vote for Congress candidate Gandra Satyanarayana from the Bhupalapally constituency, emphasizing that despite being in power, the BRS has failed to solve the difficulties faced by Singareni employees.

These words were delivered by Revanth Reddy during the Vijayabheri Yatra, in which Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is taking part.
