SIT arrests two more people in TSPSC exam paper scam

On Monday, the Hyderabad Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested two more people for their alleged involvement in the TSPSC exam paper scam.

Muralidhar Reddy of Hyderabad and Manoj of Warangal were arrested by the SIT.

“Muralidhar contacted Manoj and sold the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) exam paper for Rs. 10 lakh,” according to an SIT official. With the addition of two new arrests, the total number of arrests in the case has risen to 23. Rajashekhar and Praveen, the main accused, had sold the paper to Muralidhar.

The SIT had discovered that Muralidhar and Manoj had both sold the question paper to a few other people. SIT officials are also working to identify and apprehend those individuals as well.

On March 12, the TSPSC scam came to light, resulting in the cancellation of the Group 1 preliminary examination, Assistant Engineers, AEE, and DAO exams.

Praveen, an assistant section officer at TSPSC, and Rajashekar Reddy, a network administrator at TSPSC, allegedly stole and sold exam question papers from a computer in the Commission’s confidential section.

The exam paper leak case sparked outrage in Telangana, with opposition parties Congress and BJP blaming the BRS government for the leak, which impacted thousands of unemployed people in the state.
