Sonia Gandhi holds virtual meet to discuss political situation, farmers’ issue

After the eight-round talk between the central government and farmers union over the three new agriculture laws which resulted in nothing, congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday has held a virtual meeting with the party general secretaries and in-charges to discuss the current situation of the political scenario and farmers protest.

Besides Sonia Gandhi, Congress General Secretary K. C. Venugopal, former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Manickam Tagore, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Rajeev Sataval, Tariq Anwar, Pawan Bansal, Bhakta Charan Das, Jitin Prasada, Rajeev Shuklam, P.L. Punia, and Ajay Maken, and several other ministers attended the meeting.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra met party MPs and MLAs to perform a protest at Jantar Mantar against the three farm laws made by the central government for at least 32 days.

Priyanka Gandhi has expressed the full support of the farmers union and its demands.

Priyanka also said that we are not going to move back and the only solution to the settlement is that the government must cancel the three farm law.

After the several rounds of talk which leads to no result. Now the congress is coming openly in the support of the protesting farmers. The congress party has announced moral support to the farmers who are protesting.

The congress student wing of NSUI has stated a cycle rally from Jaipur to Delhi in the support of farmers and will be reaching the Delhi border on Tuesday.

The next meeting is between the farmers union and the central government is scheduled for 15th January.
