Southern California Uni Receives Bomb Threat

The University of Southern California (USC) recently evacuated multiple buildings on the premises after a bomb threat was reported.

Law Agencies Ran Checks

The University took to Twitter to inform on Thursday evening that Grace Ford Salvatori Hall, Sample Hall and Wallis Annenberg Hall were being evacuated due to a bomb threat. Following this, the Los Angeles Police Department and Department of Public Safety were conducting a search.

Soon after, the law enforcement agencies determined that the evacuated buildings were safe and were reopened around half an hour later.

This comes after multiple Ivy League universities in the East Coast including Yale, Columbia, Brown and Cornell have received bomb threats and were forced to warn the students to evacuate the campus buildings. However, the law enforcement agencies didn’t find any of the threats credible.

LAPD To Fire Unvaccinated Employees

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles police chief Michel Moore said that he is ready to fire any person from the 12000 employees department who refuse to get vaccinated against Covdi 19 or get tested twice a week.

LAPD aims to have a fully vaccinated workforce to ensure the safety and welfare of the department’s officers and the public. This comes as a measure to ensure that all the unvaccinated people have received their doses by December 18.

The LAPD on November 4 began to have the commanding officers personally deliver notices to the unvaccinated employees. The ones who demanded an exemption were informed of the requirement. The approach also involved a “one-on-one conversation.

Talking to the media, Moore expressed that he does wish to “turn down the volume” on the national debate regarding the vaccine mandates. He informed that LAPD has sent notices to more than 60% of the unvaccinated employees that have been officially notified on a one-on-one basis.
