stand-up comedian Munawar Farooqui arrested for filthy remarks about Hindu gods

A stand-up comedian from Gujarat Munawar Farooqui on Saturday was arrested along with four others after the son of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA has filed a complaint accusing them of passing filthy remarks about Hindu gods and Union Home Minister Amit shah during there show.

The local court has rejected the bail pleas and send them to judicial custody.
The stand-up comedian Munawar Farooqui’s show was in a café on Friday, police said

The son of local BJP MLA Eklavya sing gaur and Malini Laxman sing gaur has filed a complaint regarding the show of stand-up comedian Munawar Farooqui.

Garu said that he and his friends have gone to watch the show of Munawar Farooqui and when they heard about the filthy remarks then they forced the organizers to stop the show.

The police said “A case was filed late on Friday night against Munawar Faruqui, a resident of Junagadh in Gujarat, and four Indore-based persons, based on a written complaint filed by Gaur,”

The son of BJP MLA has also submitted video footage of the Munawar Farooqui show and other arrested persons were identified as Edwin Anthony, Prakhar Vyas, Priyam Vyas, and Nalin Yadav.

The officials said that Section 269 was invoked for not taking covid-19 safety protocol
