Stones Pelted On Former Andhra Pradesh CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu; Stages Sit-In Protest

Amidst the Tirupati Lok Sabha bypoll, a new development has been made. The leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) have said that stones were being pelted at Nara Chandrababu Naidu during the campaign.

Nara Chandrababu Naidu Warns The Stone Pelters

The incident happened on Monday night while Naidu was campaigning. Shouting from the open top of his vehicle, Naidu said that people were throwing stones from above. He called them “useless fellows” and said “come I will show you”. He further challenged the pelters to be bold enough to come forward and sort the matter with him. The police were also present at the venue during the incident.

He further warned the pelters and said that he would skin the pelters if they throw stones again. The police later covered him to protect him from the pelters.

Naidu called the pelters anti-social elements and said that incidents like these shouldn’t be taken as a joke. He then asked the stone pelted at him to be given to him. People standing around in front of the vehicle gave him the stone.

As he held the stone in his hand and raised it, he chanted “rowdy rajyam (kingdom), rowdy rajyam”. His supporters chanted the same.

After the slogans, Naidu called the pelters “timid fellows, useless fellows” and further said that he will show his power. Meanwhile, some unknown person managed to have access to a microphone and tried to explain something to him.

Throughout the incident, Panabaka Lakashmi, TDP’s candidate in the bypoll elections was standing right next to Naidu. Later, he staged a sit-in protest.

The TDP state president Kinjarapu Atchannaidu said that they don’t trust the police of Andhra Pradesh. He demanded that the Central government step in and control the situation. He went on to say that the Police “enabled” the pelting to happen in the first place. TDP condemns the act.

Atchannaidu also demanded action from the Election Commission of India (ECI). He warned that they will stop their protest after the police registered a case against the Youth, Labour and Farmer’s Congress Party MLAs, Ministers and the Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy, whom the party claims to be behind the attack.
