On December 20, undergraduate students from Nizam College protested at LB Stadium in Hyderabad, expressing their dissatisfaction with reoccurring difficulties connected to water crises, food quality, cleanliness facilities, and room allocations in the girls’ hostel.
Students protesting requested justice, citing their concerns about a lack of critical services. Despite police attempts to remove them from the road, the students persisted, causing traffic delays for nearly an hour.
After receiving information of the protest, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sharat Chandra Pawar met with the college principal, leading to the dispersion of the students.
This protest followed a similar one on December 11, when students expressed their dissatisfaction with the dormitory services. One demonstrator called the situation “intolerable” and chastised the principal for advising pupils to seek better facilities elsewhere.
Students’ unhappiness exposes recurring issues with accommodation and basic services at Nizam College. Authorities will almost certainly need to address these concerns in order to ensure the well-being and contentment of the student body.
