Telangana government to pay employee’s two-month PRC dues

The Telangana government will pay all government employees in the state for two months’ PRC 2021 arrears. The state finance department issued directives on Tuesday for the payment of employees’ PRC dues for April and May 2021.

According to the directives, the government would pay employees of all government agencies, businesses, and cooperative societies their dues in 18 equal installments starting in May 2022. It further claimed that the PRC dues of the deceased employees would be distributed to their families.

“After careful consideration, the government has decided to pay the amended pay scales, 2020 arrears for the period from 01.04.2021 to 31.05.2021 in eighteen equal monthly installments beginning in April 2022 and payable in May 2022. In the event of the employee’s death, the arrears will be reimbursed in full to the employee’s family/legal heirs,” the orders stated. Employees can obtain government orders via goir.telangana.gov.in and finance.telangana.gov.in/ for further details.

For the past ten months, state government employees and retirees have been waiting for PRC 2021 (pay revision commission) arrears. In June 2021, the government issued directives declaring that these arrears will be paid before the current fiscal year 2021-22 ended.

Even though February pay was paid on the first of this month, the employees did not get the arrears. Employees who retired after April 2021 have yet to receive arrears, while current employees have yet to receive arrears for April to June 2021. On March 1, employees will get their final salary for the fiscal year. They want the government to pay back the arrears with the March paycheck, as promised in June 2021.

What is meant by PRC?

PRC is the abbreviation for Pay Revision Commission. Every fifth year, it is customary to appoint a Pay Revision Commission.

The PRC will examine not only pay revisions, but also other concerns such as transfers, and will make appropriate suggestions. According to the Terms of Reference, the PRC will consider the state’s economic conditions, the current pay structure in the federal and state governments, the government’s resources, the financial implications of their recommendations in the short and long term, and the overall impact on state finances to finalize the new pay structure.
